Santa, Singing and Sustainable Christmas Tips at the Crochet Christmas Tree Event!

Saturday 2nd December saw the return to the garden of Phibsboro Library of our Sustainable Christmas tree - the beautiful Crochet Christmas tree which was designed and made by the wonderful Phizzfest Stitchers, with help from Phibsborough Men's Shed and Panama Beavers.

Refreshments generously sponsored by McGeough's/The Bohemian and Filo Café, kept us warm, as well as delicious home-made treats baked by volunteers.

Santa was delighted to meet local children in his grotto and hear what they would like for Christmas...provided they're on the Nice list!

Festive singing was led by members of All Saints Choir, enthusiastically joined by volunteers and members of the public, which created a wonderful atmosphere.

Members of the Sustainability Group had an informative display on decorative solar lights and sustainable gift wrapping and crackers, while the Biodiversity Group demonstrated how to make safe and suitable Christmas treats for birds to help them conserve energy over the cold winter months.

An exhibition of the winners of our summer Biodiversity Garden Competition and recent Biodiversity Photography Competition was mounted on the garden railings and will be on display for the next few weeks.

Finally, thank you to Phibsboro Library staff for welcoming us back to their beautiful garden this year and hosting our Sustainable Crochet Tree for Christmas 2023.
